Business Event SAP Specialist
About the Mercury Support Team (MST) and Finance Operations (FO)
Finance Operations (FO) is an internal EY Finance organization that is part of EY’s Global Mercury Support Team (MST) which in turn is jointly owned by business and IT. The FO group helps support several key Finance Products including Mercury (which is EY’s SAP centric platform supporting Customer to Cash processes).
The MST is a centralized and global organization that provides operational support for the Mercury user community. The MST plays an integral governance role in the global Mercury solution and will evolve to work closely with the business to enable the benefit and value to be realized from the investment in Mercury and to set the future direction and technology road map.
About this Role:
Business Event Management is an MST Service that manages the lifecycles encapsulating the EY business events that impact the structure of EY’s financial systems. The team provides advisory services to Global CFOs, Clients, and the Program as trusted business advisors to ensure business events that impact the structure of financial systems are accommodated in a way that drives global consistency in both transactional processing and financial reporting.
The Team also establishes and supports processes to evaluate requests to address changes to organization structures, competencies, and business models; addresses unique business needs for localization by service line and work through exceptions; and maintains the integrity between Mercury and legacy systems.
Support the Business Events Lead in setting the overall strategy for Business Event Management team
Provide comprehensive SAP business and functional support for business events including but not limited to mergers, acquisitions, consolidations, divestitures, and global initiatives
Build relationships and act as a trusted business advisor with Service Lines, Clients, Program, Global CFOs, MST team members, downstream global functional owners, global leaders, etc.
Provide oversight and architectural direction for configuration that drives global consistency in both transactional processing and financial reporting (e.g. Organizational Designs, Service Codes etc.)
Provide expertise and support for the local country representatives and relevant MST teams regarding the Business Events in Mercury (profit center alignment, Managed Services buildout, new businesses, etc.)
Participate in the due diligence and compliance processes
Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, computer science or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience
8-10 years’ experience supporting SAP Finance solution in a complex global environment
Direct experience supporting a large SAP implementation at a global firm
Intimate knowledge of EY Service Lines and business structure and the Mercury Solution
ITIL certification (preferred)
Project Management certification (optional)
Experience in demand management in a global systems (e.g. SAP) environment
Extensive knowledge of software development lifecycle methods, processes, tools and best practices (information systems including finance, procurement, service delivery, CRM, etc.)
