The team assists businesses to access various government funding and investment vehicles. The national team consists of programmers, engineers, scientists, lawyers, economists and accountants who have a genuine interest in innovation, economics and business growth.

The opportunity

As a result of continued growth, EY’s Investment and Government Incentives team wishes to hire a number of talented Consultants to engage with various Australian Industries and support our clients in scoping their investment projects to develop comprehensive business cases and program applications for funding. In this unique role, you will work on understanding complex and confidential projects, and have the opportunity to develop a wide range of skills including stakeholder engagement and management, persuasive and technical writing, and financial/economic analysis.

Your key responsibilities

Drawing on knowledge gained from your education or experience in industry, you will advise and support clients in developing detailed project documents including business cases, economic analyses, and program application responses. You will engage with companies to understand their project objectives and drivers, and analyse complex project information to develop comprehensive documents for application to various government departments. Working in high performing teams, you will prepare detailed work papers and reports to help deliver exceptional results to EY’s clients.

To qualify for the role you must have

  • Drive to provide excellent service to clients and build a better working world

  • Undergraduate and/or postgraduate qualifications which may include:

  • Engineering/Science

  • Journalism

  • Economics

  • Business

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • An interest in project development, economic evaluation and commercial decision-making

  • Report writing/business case development experience

  • Experience working in government departments, especially governmental advisory roles
