As a key leader of EY Canada’s innovation program you will have the opportunity to shape and drive a highly strategic initiative that identifies, develops and pilots new innovations while strengthening the organization’s overall innovation capability.
Our innovation program:
Proactively mobilizes our people, clients, and ecosystem partners to help solve for business challenges across industries and functions
Leverages insights on emerging trends, ecosystem scouting and design-thinking based methodology to help identify and develop new value generating opportunities
Brings a structured approach for idea development from seed concept and prototyping to business plan to pilot launch
Coordinates synergies across ideas/initiatives that may otherwise be developed in silos
Drives innovation centrally while simultaneously enabling and supporting innovation programs and initiatives throughout the organization

Your key responsibilities
Work directly with the Head of Innovation and the executive steering committee to continually shape and refine the innovation program based on strategic priorities, ensure alignment with scorecard objectives and demonstrate results
Work with executive business sponsors from across our sectors and service lines to continually build and manage a portfolio of innovation that ensures a healthy pipeline of concepts sourced from across the organization
Lead teams of business stakeholders in building out all aspects of a business plan including unique value proposition definition, market sizing and revenue potential, solution blueprints, cost estimates, delivery models, risks and mitigations, and go-to-market plans
Orchestrate client, external partner and internal stakeholder involvement in innovation including concept validation and evaluation, co-design activities, prototyping and pilot execution
Support business sponsors in preparation for the executive investment committee
Oversee the continuous refinement of the methodology and assets for the end-to-end innovation operating model, which is leveraged by the program, the broader organization as well as with our clients
Establish a network of business sponsors in order to scale our innovation operating model, reinforce a culture of innovation and drive systematic outcomes across the organization
Design and execute strategic initiatives with ecosystem partners including start-ups, accelerators, FinTech organizations, clients and/or other external partners to enhance our innovation program and/or build new capabilities
In addition to playing a leadership role in the EY Canada Innovation program, you will also contribute to our EY Canada wavespace team:
Our wavespace team works closely with our clients on some of their most strategic endeavours. EY wavespace represents a new and different way of creating collaborative experiences (virtually enabled) for people from EY, our clients and beyond to get together and embark on end to end journeys of discovery, idea generation and innovation agenda building. In wavespace we apply proven design-thinking based processes and techniques to inspire human ingenuity, reflect on different perspectives and build meaningful outcomes.
Through our global wavespace network we draw on expertise from across the world to deliver exceptional and insightful experiences.
As part of your role you will help in the design, development and execution of wavespace experiences. This includes collaborating with account teams and clients to articulate meaningful opportunities for exploration and then co-designing immersive and interactive agendas to explore the art of the possible, generate and prioritize new areas of focus, and drive alignment towards actionable next steps. You will work with the broader wavespace team to facilitate high-impact sessions with executive stakeholders.

In general, you will be expected to

Have experience in business plan and business case development
Manage multiple teams and initiatives simultaneously

Demonstrate excellent communication skills, ability to integrate into new teams and rapidly establish credibility with executives
Devise practical approaches to solving complex problems and drive alignment towards insightful solutions.
Have strong project management skills, be delivery focused / detail oriented
Demonstrate confidence in working with executive stakeholders
Promote collaboration and coach others as necessary to create high-performing teams
Deliver exceptional and high-quality outcomes
Coach and build innovation methodology and facilitation skills in others
To qualify for the role, you should have
10-15+ years of management consulting or equivalent business transformation or strategy experience
MBA or relevant master’s degree preferred
