As a Deal Architect in the Global MS organization you will be responsible for supporting deal solutioning exercises in support of EY GMS go-to-market activities. Essential Functions of the Job:
Responsible for the technical solution architecture, design and implementation of managed services offerings targeting specific client deals; including design, development and delivery of integrations necessary to operate with a client’s information technology. As a Deal Architect, you will partner with Global Managed Services Go To Market leaders, business development executives, and client personnel to understand a client’s key business drivers to determine corresponding implementation requirements and identify opportunities and risks for architecting a client solution. In partnership with other architects, you will facilitate the identification of improvements to existing offerings and potential new offerings or offering extensions.
Your responsibilities will be to support a team and can include the following areas:
As a Deal Architect, you will be in the thick of things! You will work on the most difficult & fun phases of solution architecture and engineering, including:
Configuring & implementing offerings that deliver true client value
Collaborating with Managed services teams across E&Y Service Lines helping them implement a productized strategy, consuming existing components while also greatly enhancing velocity of products through reuse!
Scouting the technology landscape for emerging technologies, patterns and solutions that can benefit Global Managed Services & our customers (existing and new)
You will also have a lot of fun innovating on Products & Technology, including :
Drive a culture of product experimentation in Architecture & Business through events like design thinking!
Evaluate technology and tools to enable the product ecosystem in EY Managed Services
Evaluate and enhance ROI through experiments and bets on technologies and components
Partner with the product managers to enhance the quality and usability of the products built with EY Technology& collaborate with Product Marketing to drive greater traction to products / features!
Architect and design solutions to meet functional and non-functional requirements
Create and review architecture and solution design artifacts
Evangelize re-use through implementation of shared assets
Enforce adherence to architectural standards/principles, global product-specific guidelines, usability design standards, etc.
Proactively provide guidance on engineering methodologies, standards and leading practices
Guidance of engineering staff and reviews of as-built configurations during implementation phase
Provide insight and direction on roles and responsibilities required for solution operations
Identify, communicate and mitigate Risks, Assumptions, Issues and Decisions throughout full lifecycle
Demonstrates strong analytical and technical problem-solving skills
Ability to analyze and operate at various levels of abstraction
Ability to balance what is strategically right with what is practically realistic
Prepare and deliver technical presentations explaining platform services to customers and prospective customers
Manage and collaborate with stakeholders within Global Managed Services, EY Client Technology and Service Lines both at the team level and leadership level
Maintain centralized Architecture repository that support and enable technical sales support, including SharePoint sites, architecture services catalog, etc.

Analytical/Decision Making Responsibilities:

Knowledge and Skills Requirements:
Experience with sales support tools and methodologies
Minimum 10 years of proven experience providing sales engineering support for managed services pursuits
Management skills to support one or more large, complex deal pursuits simultaneously
Track record of customer focus, based on openness, trust, and delivering on promises
Extensive experience of delivery that includes the use of supplier and off-shore resources
Strong team building and working skills across matrixed client, supplier and geographically dispersed virtual teams
Strong communication and interpersonal and negotiation skills
Excellent facilitation, communication and data analysis skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills – must be able to communicate fluently in English both verbally and in writing
Honed diplomatic skills and building working relationships with diverse and cross functional teams
Expert collaborator; ability to build consensus looking for win-win strategies
Expert in defining, designing and developing cloud based products and services on Cloud environments (such as Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure, Rackspace, etc.)
Deep understanding of SaaS, PaaS, IaaS, Application and Infrastructure
Outstanding leadership and organizational skills
Manages the wider team and directs by delegating work effectively, noting items for escalation when appropriate and using proper resources and sound financial and project planning.
Resolves team conflicts with a proven ability to implement and communicate difficult decisions as well as provide individual or team mentoring as appropriate
Proven skills in managing suppliers / system integrators both within and external to the organization
Train within the organization existing/new Deal Architects as needed
Strong influencing skills are required to work with other departments or leaders and encourage effective feedback for all team members with stakeholders
Receives general direction from leadership of the Global Managed Services and Technology group
The role may also require the periodic allocation of additional time on the job to support multiple demands and escalating issues or to accommodate teams or staff in other time zones.
National and international travel may be required
Must be able to operate in a virtual environment
Must be flexible to conduct business in hours that are flexible with a global team
Degree in CS, CE, CIS, IS, MIS, or related discipline or equivalent work experience
15 plus years of demonstrable enterprise level IT experience with minimum of 10 years in sales support in very large managed services/product companies
Technical Sales professionals with experience in deal solution exercises supporting go-to-market activities
Passion for enabling business solutions as per client needs based on robust technical architecture (comprising Application, Data and Infrastructure)
Though an individual contributor role, one of the key people attributes for the role would be strong experience in building relationship and interacting with senior client personnel including C-level
The ideal candidate should have excellent English-language skills in written as well as verbal communication and an expert collaborator; ability to build consensus looking for win-win strategies in a firm with global footprint
Experience of IT service business and architecture of multi-year managed services
Experience of working in an Agile Scrum environment
Experience of using Collaboration/project monitoring software (i.e. Slack, Teams, JIRA & Confluence)
Strong client facing / consultancy skills
Have experience in analyzing client needs and delivering solutions, technology and architecture design and support to managed services.
Be proficient in assessing options (e.g. risk, performance and cost-benefit) and informing decision-makers with persuasive visualizations based upon assessment outputs.
Can coordinate / collaborate with teams & stakeholders in multiple geographies
Manage Matrix teams with participants in multiple geographies.
Can quickly form strong working relationships with colleagues within and outside your location
Solid business acumen, management and marketing communication skills
Significant experience in presenting ideas, product, demo’s to varied audiences
Certification Requirements :
Microsoft, AWS, TOGAF, SAFe, ITIL, CCNA, CISSP, PMP, etc.
