IT Project Manager – Banking

Purpose & Accountability

Responsible for the management & delivery of the IT portion of one or more projects in accordance with client Project Management

Methodology and SDLC, including providing IT estimates, managing IT resources, monthly reporting and coordination with all impacted IT teams to ensure effective delivery of the system/solution

Provides IT Project Management capability with either an IT application development or IT Infrastructure focus to support the IT components of the business change initiatives.

Work with client and vendor IT Infrastructure, architecture, Information Security & Application development teams to support the delivery of projects.

Decision Making

Makes decisions within defined methodology and appropriately actions on any variances on project scope, schedule, financials, risk, issue, assumptions, dependencies, resourcing and governance.

Escalates decisions that cannot be resolved within the project to the agreed governance forums.

Problem Solving

Accountable for adherence to client project methodology and ensures any deviations are addressed.

Identifies, drives and leads problem solving and issue management for the project deliverables.

Leverages client and other vendor technical expertise, working closely with all stakeholders in the delivery of IT change.

Collaboration

Ensures the right stakeholders are identified and actively engaged on the project.

Collaborates with Project Managers and other stakeholders to ensure optimal outcomes are achieved in terms of quality, value and timely delivery of IT components of change.

Level of Influence

Develops and maintains relationships with senior project stakeholders (IT & Business).

Prepares and presents project analysis, insights and recommendation to assist agreed governance forums with decision making

Leadership / Technical

Ability to positively engage and develop relationships with multiple stakeholders

Ability to deal with ambiguity and uncertainty

Education

Primary Degree

Project management qualification (PMBOK/Prince2)
