Job Title: Risk Consulting Manager

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • The Risk Consulting Manager will participate in and, as required, lead risk and regulatory client engagements, including reviews of administrative and operational functions with dependency on core operational systems

  • Research the latest Irish, European and International regulatory developments, risk frameworks, particularly those with strong operations and technology components such as Basel Guidelines, EBA Guidelines, CBI Guidelines, GDPR, PSD2.

  • Understand our key service offerings and actively identify opportunities to better serve clients including - Governance Frameworks, Technology Risk Assessments, Operational Incident Reviews, Risk and Control, Framework Enhancement and Transformation, Resilience Reviews, Continuity Planning, Outsourcing and Supplier Risk Frameworks

  • Prepare and assist in the preparation of reports and schedules that will be delivered to clients and other parties such as management information generated from RCAs, KPIs and KRIs from GRC systems

  • Effectively manage client facing delivery teams, mainly leading and coaching staff members engaged in assignment delivery

  • Demonstrate the ability to manage work on clients' sites including liaising with other departments to ensure the smooth delivery of solutions

  • Demonstrate a solution-based approach to problem solving

  • Manage client relationships with senior executive or management team

  • Oversight of assignment planning and management, quality assurance and managing client expectations

  • Managing team financial performance through staff utilization, engagement costs monitoring and invoicing

  • Identifying and developing business opportunities across a wide range of service lines within the firm

  • Preparation of project proposals, budgets, negotiations over scope, fee and contract terms

  • Ensuring that risk management procedures and quality standards are observed throughout assignment delivery

  • Fostering and developing strong networks (local, area, global) with key service line champions in the global firm

Person Specification:

  • University graduate

  • Financial services industry experience, i.e. retail banking, insurance, funds, capital markets etc.

  • 8+ years of experience in governance, risk management, operational management or consulting on risk management type engagements

  • Strong knowledge of risk related frameworks and standards (e.g. COSO, COBIT, ISO31000)

  • Client-oriented, professional services mindset

  • Excellent leadership and team management skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • Ability to manage several projects simultaneously

  • Ability to prioritize conflicting demands and work well under pressure

Desirable:

Big 4 management experience and training

Strong local professional network with out-of-market expertise
