The opportunity

EY’s Performance Improvement Advisory professionals bring a wealth of experience in working with major financial institutions to align their operating model and infrastructure to their business’ strategic objectives. We assemble the right multi-disciplinary teams, use consistent and proven global methodologies and tools, and draw on the full breadth of EY’s global network, to deliver value and trusted advice to the clients. The key service offerings cover finance function transformation, customer and distribution effectiveness, operations, shared services / outsourcing support, performance management, program advisory, enterprise intelligence, risk management and regulatory change.

Your key responsibilities

We’re looking for capable individuals to join our team with experience in the financial services industry. Whole industries have been disrupted and transformed in recent years by digital technology. As an IT advisory professional, you’ll help businesses realize the value they can gain from their IT investments — supporting strategy and being a key growth driver. As part of a high-performing team, you will deliver exceptional client service — providing advice on how technology enablement, digital transformation and enterprise intelligence contribute to performance improvement, as well as how IT can act as multiplying effect during major program transformations.

Skills and attributes for success

  • Proficient in project management methodology, tools and templates (includes project planning and financial management, schedule development, scope management, resource management, supplier and procurement management, and risk and issue management)

  • Experienced in using off-shore delivery and distributed teams.

  • IT background with experience across the systems development life cycle with experience in all project phases – plan, initiate, elaborate, design, build, test, implement

  • Work collaboratively with clients, establishing a business-driven vision for the future of their IT systems, processes and infrastructure through the application of leading practices and improving their capabilities

  • Strong presentation skills and proficiency in the use of PowerPoint, Word, Excel and Project

  • Track record dealing with senior stakeholders and adapting to demanding environments

  • Possess strong interpersonal and teaming skills

To qualify for the role you must have

  • Bachelor's degree and approximately 8 years of related work experience; preferably with 5 years in a business consulting role in a leading consultancy firm. Candidates with lesser experience will be considered at Senior Associate level

  • Industry knowledge and understanding of Banking and/or Insurance businesses (e.g., business models, channels, typical structure, industry terms and issues)

  • Experience in identifying and mitigating project risks and issues

  • Strong experience in project / program delivery lifecycle through waterfall and agile methodology

  • Able to effectively capture requirements, analyze and develop business requirements and/or functional design documents

  • Experience in structuring and designing project / program deliverables (e.g., business requirements documents, requirements traceability matrix)

  • Willingness to learn, show a high tech aptitude with a great attitude and strong analytical skills

  • Strong understanding of the software test life cycle as well as the business approach for the product is a bonus

Ideally, you’ll also have experience in one or more of the following disciplines

  1. Business analyst and consulting skillsets with experience in project/program delivery
  • Demonstrate experience in bringing together business and IT knowledge to deliver on business outcomes.

  • Experience in process analysis and design

  • Experience in project management and methods (e.g., steering committee communications; risk and issues register; status reporting; financials, resource and schedule tracking)

  • Experience in presales and sales activities, generating business through a network of contacts

  1. Testing specialist
  • Demonstrate strong experience in leading testing teams, particularly User Acceptance Testing in project / program delivery

  • Experience in developing testing strategies, test planning, test script design, test execution, and business engagement

  • Experience in business readiness support (e.g., deployment, cut-over planning, user training)
