The opportunity

This is a high-growth area,and we are seeking peoplewho arepassionate about building innovative customer engagementapplicationsthat have a positive impact on sales volumes, customer satisfaction and reduction ofoperating costs.


Yourprimary responsibilitywill beto design and develop front-end web applications and the restful API services layerto digitizeinsurance processes for customers, agents and employees in a way that provides a competitive advantage for our clients.You will need to become familiar with insurance processes,including quoting new policies, servicing policiesandaccepting claims across both personal and commercial lines of business. Although your focuswill beon building the system of engagement, it will be important for you to gain familiarity with systems of record,including Guidewire, Duck Creek, Salesforce, Microsoft DynamicsandSAP Sales Cloud. Youwill beexpected toleverage best practices and tools to create efficient, reliable, scalable andengagingcode.

Skills and attributes for success

  • Ability to demonstrate technical capabilitiesin front-end development and/or microservices architecture, design and implementation

  • Experience in the latest tools and technologies for front-end development and frameworks

  • Awareness of the latest trends and techniques for user experience development

  • Ability to analyze a user experience challenge and create appropriate designs

  • Ability towork in a team environment andbe acoach or mentor while being coachedormentored

  • Ability to communicateeffectively withbusiness and technical users to discusssolution approachesand leading practices

  • General understandingof,or appreciation for,insurance processes

To qualify for the role,you must have:


  • Have a minimum oftwoyears’experiencewith Javascript frameworks (ReactJS, AngularJS, React Native, Cordova CLI, Android, iOS)

  • Be well versed with devices and browsers (Android, iOS, IE 9+, Chrome and Chrome developer tools, Firefox and Firefox developer tools) 

  • Be familiarwith development frameworks,including NodeJS, NPMandGrunt

  • Be familiarwith Git, Maven and related technologies to build and deploy microservices

  • Have experience with authentication and authorization with Identity Management, JWT (JSON Web Tokens) and authentication framework

  • Be familiarwith programming languages,including any of Java, JavaScriptorGosu

  • Be familiarwith unit testing frameworks,including Jasmine,MochaJS, Unit.js andKarmaJS

  • Be highly motivated to learn new technologies 


  • Experience with Guidewire Digital products,including any ofCustomerEngage,ProducerEngage,ServiceRepEngage,EnterpriseEngage,VendorEngageor Edge APIs

  • Experience with any ofGuidewire, Duck Creek, Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics or SAP Sales Cloud

  • Experience with cloud delivery models,including Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services, GoogleFirebase,Salesforce App CloudandPivotal Cloud Foundry

  • Experience with microservices architecture and development

  • Experience developing insurance or financial services applications

  • Experience with performance monitoring techniques

Ideally, you’ll also have:

  • Experience working with globally distributed/offshore teams

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to explain technical content to nontechnical customers

  • Willingness to travel 80% to meet client needs
