The opportunity

As part of our firmwide growth around technology, we are currently seeking a UAV Solutions Engineer who will be a critical member of a small, Agile development team working closely with our client’s, partners and stakeholders to design, develop and deploy solutions utilizing UAVs, imaging and other sensors in various industries such as supply chain, utilities, construction, agriculture and entertainment. In addition to UAV solutions, our team is also currently buildingboth Mobile and Web apps using Xamarin , React , Microsoft .NET and Azure . We are developing Augmented and Virtual Reality(AR/VR) solutions using Microsoft HoloLens , Oculus and Windows Mixed Reality headsets which will be used as devices to display and visualize data obtained from computer vision and aerial robotics.

Your key responsibilities

  • Leading in-person and remote sessions with EY, client and partner teams to understand opportunities for UAV’s, robotics and integrated sensor solutions

  • Working with product, design and engineering teams to understand end-user requirements and translating that into an effective technical approach

  • Coordinate and working with EY partners, clients and stakeholders, including internal teams and vendors to develop solutions utilizing a Sprint-based Agile development approach

  • Managing and supporting the end-to-end implementation of UAV, robotics and connected sensor solutions such as LiDar, RFID, Flight Automation, GPS and UTM systems

  • Perform market research to identify new opportunities, assess viability and prioritize opportunities

  • Participating in brainstorming and tool ideation sessions and having the chance to contribute innovative and original ideas to our technology and products

  • Leading the creation of reusable procedures, frameworks and platforms to optimize ourUAV and sensor implementations to help deploy autonomous solutions to our clients

Skills and attributes for success

  • Expertise in deploying UAV and robotics sensor-based solutions in various markets and sectors

  • Expertise in the UAV/Drone/robotics industry, hardware and software, what is currently possible, what is coming

  • Experience developing relationships with existing and potential partners and clients

  • Working knowledge of Agile, Scrum, and/or Kanban software development methodologies

  • Engineer-level experience with the following hardware-

  • DJI

  • Autel Robotics

  • Skydio

  • AAE

  • Parrot

  • Intel Drones

  • Experience with IBM Watson and Microsoft Azure video analytics tools is a plus

  • Hands-on software development experience is a plus

  • Experience with DroneDeploy and Kespry is a plus

  • Experience with AR/VR devices such as Oculus and/or Microsoft HoloLens is a major plus
