EY Global Delivery Services means 29.500 specialists providing globally IT, HR, finance, project management and strategic business services to EY member firms. In addition we deliver support and solutions to clients from all over the world.

As Insurance Competency Leader you will manage a team of over 100 FTE developers, testers and architects working with EY’s customers on core system implementations in the Insurance sector. You will be responsible for delivery and growth across all sub-competency areas and ensure scalability for EYs Insurance teams across EMEIA. You will also define resources requirements, participate in resource allocation, and interview new candidates in recruitment process and participate in the organization-wide people initiatives. Maintaining team spirit and high level of engagement will be your key priority

Skills and attributes for success

  • You need to be a seasoned, conscious people leader. We are a company which puts our employees first – they are the reason we succeed.

  • Bachelor degree is a requirement, this is a role requiring business knowledge and knowing how to put it in use.

  • Demonstrated track record with consulting organization, or a delivery organization with multinational network and scale.

  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience. Ideally – over 15. You are entering an environment where your closest teams consist of market-leading, managers and seniors. Need to act the part.

  • Demonstrated experience in business development and account management. The team is on a rise, but its opportunity to develop and grow are still tremendous, and you need to maximize them

  • Fluent English is a must – you will use it 90% of the time. German, French or any other European language is an asset.

To qualify for the role you must have

  • Software development industry experience of around 10 years and above

  • Real time knowledge and experience on enterprise system integration

  • Excellent in verbal and written business communication, client facing and leadership roles

  • Experience in Java, JEE, XML, Web Services, SQL

  • Strong experience in relational databases (Oracle / SQL Server), PL/SQL, Spring, Hibernate, Castor, any Enterprise Messaging System

  • Experience in project management reporting tools, such as JIRA

  • Experience in agile / scrum methodology

  • Should have understanding and experience of software development best practices

  • Willing to travel to the customers locations on need basis

  • Excellent English language verbal and written communication, German or other European language will be an advantage

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Experience in products like Guidewire/DuckCreek/Fadata etc

  • Having Project management certification from reputed institute (such as PMP or PRINCE2) is a plus

  • Six Sigma or Lean management knowledge

  • Experience in financial sector (banks, insurance companies)

  • Sense of humor
