The BTS Markets / Competency Leader plays a pivotal role on the Global BTS team. In this role, you will team with the BTS compentency leaders to execute strategic initiatives and advance the competency agenda, lead the process for development, review, and maintenance of Global BTS go-to-market materials to be leveraged by the practice, and create awareness of key BTS markets initiatives across SL and X Sub Service Line (SSL) to support revenue growth. The BTS Markets / Competency Leader is responsible for being a trusted business advisor and instrumental in supporting BTS leadership accelerate business priorities.
Your key responsibilities
Support Global Competency Leader in build out of 3-year business plan and related action plan to execute
Drive specific initiatives/projects in support of competency strategy/priorities
Drive greater sector and solution alignment across Regions
Raise awareness to cross SL and SSLs solutions and initiatives and consider broader Field of Play connectivity
Identify, co-develop and deploy global go-to-market materials (client discussion decks, FAQs, service calendars, placemats, other client co-development tools)
Monitor and summarize market trends to advise and prioritize markets initiatives
Monitor, track and report pipeline and wins results, providing insights on trends, and identifying opportunities for improvement and support go-to market deployment, accountability and results
Consistently focus on building reported pipeline, wins, proposals, tools and other best practices (common trends and themes) to share with the BTS Global leadership team and internal networks
Provide ad hoc project support to the broader BTS team
Team with Thought Leadership/Network Engagement Leader for competency communications and insights for BTS practice update and the Technology Leader related to tools and technology for competencies
Coordinate leadership calls, maintain, monitor and follow up on all actions, and engage broader resources
Skills and attributes for success
To qualify for the role, you must have
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; Masters in Business Administration a plus
5-10 years of relevant business experience working with senior stakeholders
Experience engaging, influencing and building collaborative relationships with board-level stakeholders
Strong problem-solving skills and business acumen
Strategic communicator with good writing skills and clear oral presentations
Ability to analyze critical business requirements, identify deficiencies, potential opportunities and develop innovative solutions
Ideally, you’ll also have
Ability to work flexible hours and leverage virtual meeting functions for global team interactions
Ability to leverage and optimize new technology, including advance PPT functionalities, Power BI
Demonstrate the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently, prioritize demands and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment through excellent time management and organizational skills
Demonstrate the ability to challenge assumptions and decisions in an appropriate manner
Be a strong self-starter and lateral thinker, comfortable working collaboratively, virtually and independently
Understand EY and the Tax business; effectively navigate EY’s matrix organization to access, inform and engage the right people at the right time
