Our Technology Consulting group advises clients through their journey, from education on new trends, vendor offerings, or solution strategies, through design and architecture, and then implementation of core applications required to run their businesses. Our team is looking for an experienced Architect to act as an SAP Cloud Architect subject matter advisor, project engineer, and practice developer. This individual should excel at researching and describing the trends, options, and comparable attributes of the various SAP cloud solutions, including private clouds, HEC, Azure, AWS, and on-premise. A strong leader, the Architect develops solution architecture plans for clients, accretes supporting knowledge assets and accelerators, and trains team architects and developers.

Your key responsibilities

  • Develop and apply applicable methodologies, tools, approaches, points of view, thought leadership and accelerators to differentiate EY in the SAP consulting market. These are shared with all EY market-facing organizations to provide consistency and common platforms with which to go to market

  • Demonstrate strong technical SAP skills, with a particular focus on supporting consolidation, merging, and overall technical management of SAP activities.

  • Define and translate customer business requirements for enterprise-wide or large-scale information systems supporting SAP Business Modules into technical solutions and providing technical leadership and individual contribution to the architecture and design of these solutions

  • Own the overall architecture, design and technical oversight of complex business initiatives in customer consulting engagements

  • Interface with the account team, customer, and customer executive management to define requirements, recommend solutions and ultimately implement per cost, scope and schedule

  • Provide advisory support on complex tasks and project supervision. Participate in customer engagement planning and supporting sales efforts.

  • Review and influence existing customer strategic goals. Collect, prioritize and document customer requirements with the customer. Document the Architecture and Design and implement such within customer base

  • Articulate alternatives in terms of cost, benefit, and risk where multiple solutions exist. Collaborate with the Project Manager in the creation of technical project plans and assemble teams for customer engagements. Perform technical quality assurance audits

  • Develop long-term relationships and networks both internally and externally

  • Work with a team of technology professionals through all phases of the technology lifecycle, including requirements definition, architecture design, and conversion and testing both internally and client facing

  • Develop and apply emerging technology features to transformation engagement activities. Provide expertise for deployment architecture for SAP on Microsoft Azure. Advise Azure architects in designing an Azure framework that is able to support SAP

  • Provide business development assistance, and as needed, manage project teams through agreed upon phases of SAP project governance, requirements definition, vendor selection, risk analysis, customization, testing and training

To qualify, you must have a majority or significant representation of the following:

  • Minimum of 3 years designing infrastructure solutions for ERP applications: datacenter, network, servers, end-point connectivity, security, resilience

  • 3-5 years of experience working with SAP in business operations, corporate finance or enterprise technology, with at least 1 year spent in a leader/managerial and IT/business integration role

  • Approximately 5+ years of practical industry/technology experience

  • Minimum 5+ years of SAP Basis experience managing SAP environments

  • Minimum 1 year of hands on HANA migrations or HANA implementations

  • Minimum 3 years of experience with common enterprise platforms and relational databases: Unix, Linux, Windows, VMware, Oracle, MSSQL, DB2

  • Hands-on experience or certification SAP on Azure

  • Minimum of two engagements with experience in advising Azure teams on framework design

  • Proven success in managing distributed and multi-vendor teams

  • Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment

  • Desire to work in a complex technology environment

  • Passionate client-service orientation

  • Excellent leadership, communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills

  • The successful candidate must also be willing and able to travel 70-90% of a work schedule

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred
