EY Technology supports our technology needs through three business units:

ClientTechnology (CT) - focuses on developing new technology services for our clients. It enables EY toidentify new technology-based opportunities faster, and pursue those opportunities more rapidly.

EnterpriseWorkplace Technology (EWT) – EWT supports our Core Business Services functions and will deliver fit-for-purpose technology infrastructure at the cheapest possible cost for quality services. EWT will also support our internal technology needs by focusing on a better user experience.

Information Security (Info Sec) - Info Sec prevents, detects, responds and mitigates cyber-risk, protecting EY and client data, and our information management systems.

The opportunity

As a Cloud Security Engineer in the Security Technology Services Engineering group, you will be working in a team responsible for the design, engineering, implementation and early life support of cloud security services across the global EY cloud environment. The Cloud Security Engineer will work closely with Security Architects, Service Delivery, Security Operations, and Cyber Defense to support the enablement of security service. These services will be handed over to Security Operations teams once early life is ended and all relevant documentation is provided. Additionally you will provide consulting services to other teams, and act as a level four escalation point for operational issues.

Your key responsibilities

  • Build technology solutions followingall relevant EY standards and practices in the cloud

  • Able to make technical decisions insupport of Architecture, Operations, Strategy and Service Delivery functionswithin the project and escalated troubleshooting contexts

  • Offers technical expertise and insightdriving direct improvements and remediation of services and technologies

  • You will be working on developing,integrating & deploying new and existing security cloud technologies

  • You will be improving upon existingtechnologies in use and make recommendations for replacements where needed

  • Provides engineering support forexisting technologies and services

  • Creates Production supportdocumentation aligned to new or enhanced products or services

  • Drives automation and innovationacross the security technologies supported

  • Due to the global team/organizationcalls and meetings out of regular office hours will occur

  • Weekend or late night work may occurduring project and early life support phases

  • No direct supervision responsibilitiesalthough expectation of technical leadership within the projects assigned

  • Some travel may be required

Skills and attributes for success

  • Strong organizational skills,self-motivated and able to work to tight deadlines

  • Strong work ethic with the ability towork without direct supervision on a daily basis

  • Strong analytical and problem-solvingskills

  • Effective teaming and knowledgesharing skills

  • At least 3 years of hands onexperience with infrastructure in cloud (at least Azure, nice to have: AWS andGoogle)

  • Solid understanding of networking andsecurity best practice

  • Good understanding of DevOps and ITIL

  • Knowledge of Docker/ KubernetesInfrastructure

  • Strong ability to document processes,procedures and security designs clearly and accurately for distribution tointernal teams and customers

  • Understanding of other technologiesrequired to run an enterprise level infrastructure

  • Demonstrated experience in dealingwith external vendors and suppliers in the security industry

To qualify for the role you must have

  • You hold a Bachelor of Science degreein Computer Science or a related discipline

  • You have shown deep expertise in Azureand/or AWS Cloud services

  • You also have deep expertise withOWASP Top 10 attack vectors

  • You have strong experience withwriting custom tools, interacting with IaaS API’s (Python, NodeJS, etc.), andshell scripting

  • You have at least 5 years ofInformation Security experience

  • You have good knowledge of Linux andWindows operating systems

  • Excellent interpersonal, communicationand presentation skills

  • Good time management, organizational,and decision-making skills

  • Strong English language skills arerequired – written and verbal

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • At least one technical certificationfrom a public cloud provider, especially Azure, AWS or Google

  • Involved in two or more large-scaleapplication cloud migrations

  • Understanding of TCP/IP, VLANs, andLAN switching and routing
